Rats In The House Of The Dead

Yume Nikki review

Rating: 5/10

I'm sorry but I didn't love this game. I know it's a cult classic, but I wasn't a fan. Like Five Nights At Freddies, the cultural impact is better than the game itself. I don't dislike Yume Nikki as much as FNAF, because it's visuals were creepy and bizarre (I could see the Earthbound influences). My main issue is that it's just not that interesting to play, you're just walking around clicking the space bar at everything to see if you get another effect. Exploring the worlds become tedious after a while, as you continuously go over the same bits by accident, over and over again.

This was so much better than I thought it'd be. At first I thought the game was kind of boring, but the second part: wow. What have I just played? The first part, whilst a bit boring, was just setting everything up, making it even better. I'm almost never scared by horror, but this creeped me out.
